Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone. What a wonderful morning to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The sun was shining and it was just a beautiful day. My parents and sister came to church with us and then we had an Easter feast later in the day with everyone. Julia looked so cute in her new Easter dress. She also really loved the 2 easter egg hunts we did. Daddy did one for her when she woke up and then we did one after church outside. She had fun gathering up all the eggs and then shaking each one to see what was inside. She enjoyed the loot needless to say. Thanks to my family for coming and spending the day with us. Its always nice to visit and spend time with family. It makes life so much more enjoyable!!

Lofty Goal Cont.

For the month of March I made it to two more temples. My mom, dad, sister and I attended the SLC temple on a Saturday. It was a nice spring day and busy, busy, busy!! Lots of weddings and people doing work. Its been awhile since going to Salt Lake to attend a live session...you have to experience it at least once!!

Then Layne and I had our monthly temple night and we did sealings at the Jordan River Temple. Also another busy night!! Lots of work to do and its nice to see people taking time out of their busy lives to do this work. How important it truly is and how blessed we are to be so close to a temple. Thank you for going with me sweetie and for taking the picture to document the occasion.

Getting Out

A few Saturdays ago it was a nice warm day for February so we decided to get out of the house and let Julia burn some energy. We went to a little playground to let her explore. She loves the open space and just runs and runs. She would live outside if she could! I can't wait for Spring and Summer to let her "run free" and explore the great outdoors. She is getting so big and learning so much. Its so fun to see her explore her boundaries and new things.

Onward and Upward

I've been reading a really good book by Sheri Dew called, "God Wants A Powerful People." Very insightful and meaningful for anyone wanting to become closer to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. One particular chapter I really liked was entitled: Going Forward by Backing up. In the chapter she talked about the expression Onward and Upward. This is quoted by Sheri, but I really loved it.
"This life is not about perfection, but progression. It's about persistently, consciously pressing forward--- ONWARD--- and persistently consciously trying to elevate everything from our habits to our pursuits---UPWARD. The irony is that in order to continue Onward and Upward, we often have to back up and change something about our attitude, our approach, our habits, our mistakes, our understanding."
We face so many obstacles, challenges and trials in this life. We need to remember we are not perfect but yet can strive to be as such. Its all about progression, enduring and repentance. Getting through life is hard and sometimes we need to make small or even big course corrections to the path we find ourselves on. I love this phrase! Simple but True!

A Lofty Goal

So my mom and sisters and I have made a goal to attend all the temples in Utah this year. A daunting task?? Maybe? I'm excited to see if we can accomplish our goal. January we went to Mt. Timpanogos and for February we vistied the Provo temple. We have to take a picture by each sign as proof.....so here are mine. I forgot my camera for the January picture so I took it the same day we went to Provo.
