JUNE......

Things I learned in June.......
(I'm sure I learned more but these certainly stuck out in my mind)

Allow others to take over and help you, even when asking for help is hard.

I live in a wonderful neighborhood with a great ward family that is willing to help at the drop of a hat.

Opposition in all things, I truly know what that means and I really appreciate my health when I have it.

My room really needs some stuff on the walls.

I have to let things go....especially unimportant things.

I've done my part.

I don't ever want a repeat of this kind of month, ever.

Being patience and enduring aren't easy things to do.

Sprite became my new best friend.

Dehydration and getting an IV put in my invisible veins =  pain.

The Lord does answer prayers.

My family is very important to me.

Peace comes when you are aligned with the Lord's will.

Things don't always go according to plan, at least my plan, that is.

Another Birthday............

Just another day, but another day older and also another year older. For my birthday Layne took the day off work and we took the kids to Kangaroo Jump in Pleasant Grove. They loved it and it was fun to watch them play. Christian has no fear, he goes right where Julia goes. We had a lot of fun but got hungry so we went to Costa Vida for lunch. We stopped by Walmart to pick out the little patio set that I wanted to have for our back yard. Then we went home and relaxed for the rest of the day. Saturday Layne and I went to see the new Star Trek movie. It was nice to spend time alone together and have a break from the kids. It was a fun birthday weekend.

A Medal........

We came home one day and found something in our mailbox.....it was for Julia. She was so excited and couldn't believe it. Her very own medal for playing T-ball this year. She also got a certificate saying she competed. She wore her medal around all week. Way to go Julia!!!!

 

 

Graduation Day......

Today Julia graduated from Kindergarten. Her class, along with the other kindergarten classes meet in the gym and put on a little program for the parents and families. Julia did a great job. They sang a bunch of songs reflecting what they learned this year in school.

In between the songs the kids would get up and tell some jokes. Julia was first to get up and deliver her joke and Holden helped with the punch line:

After the singing we met back in her classroom where all the kids got up to get their certificate and a picture with Mrs. Rigby. After a cute slide show we got to make yogurt parfaits. Julia got to come home from school a little early and we stopped to get some more treats from the gas station before going home.

Julia has just loved school this year and has done so well. Art and P.E were her favorite things to do. She did awesome on her final reading assesment/test. The grade level benchmark for the end of the Kindergarten year is a level 3 and Julia is on level 12. So proud of her. We just need to keep reading this summer. She has made lots of friends and has learned so many new things. I have enjoyed seeing her grow and learn this year. WAY TO GO JULIA!

Fun week at school.......

Julia only has about a week and a half left of school. She is super excited to go this week and next week because they get to do fun things each day they wouldn't normally do. Monday is Pirate Day so she got to dress up like a pirate and she thought that was the coolest thing ever. She talked about it all weekend. I think she looked really cute!

Tuesday was Art Day and she had to bring a potato sized rock to school to be able to decorate. She also got to paint. Here is what she made.

Wednesday was Monster Day. She got to do fun games that had to do with monsters. She brought home a piece of paper that talked about her monster and this is what she wrote down:
I like monsters.
Blue monsters.
Soft monsters.
Nice, 2 eye balled, fat monsters.

Thursday was Pancake/PJ day. She is also excited to wear pj's to school. Just something about it I guess...not having to get dressed for the day. She said they had to make their own butter. She they had to churn it and go really fast up and down. Then they got to eat pancakes that their teacher made right in the classroom.

Today is Kindergarten Graduation. She is so excited and has been working really hard. I guess she has to get up and say a joke for the audience. They start off in the gym and then end up in their classroom for the rest of the program. I will have to report on this later.

Julia plays T-ball

So I asked Julia what sport she wanted to play this summer, soccer or Tball and she excitedly said tball. So Tball it is! While in Disney World we missed her first couple of games but today we were finally able to go and see her play. She gets really excited to get her uniform on. She even wore it to school this week.

While we were in Disney World gma Mott picked up her shirt and texted me a picture and she got jersey number 11, which was the number I wore all through high school. I thought that was pretty cool! Starting off right :)

Anyway......today we got ready and headed off to her game. We managed to stay dry....it was dark and cloudy all around us but the sun was shining on us for her game. So they warm up and then they either take the field or bat. She was the visiting team so they got to bat first. Everybody gets to hit and they don't count outs or runs. Julia did a great job hitting today and ran really fast around the bases. She even tried once to hit the ball without the tee and she almost hit it.....she was a tad early each time but had a good swing.

Once they each get to bat they go take the field. They all line up around the base path and wait for the batter to hit the ball. If they are lucky it gets past the pitcher and then its a free for all. Every kid tries to got after the ball no matter where it was hit and then they manage to throw it over to first. We told Julia the next time they go out in the field to go stand at the pitcher position. So she and a team mate got to play and they got most of the balls for that inning. Julia did a great job stopping the ball and then throwing it over to first base.

It was fun to watch and cheer her on. She did a great job today and it should be a fun season for her! WAY TO GO JULIA!
