Princess Tea Party

Julia has had a hard time going poo-poo on the potty lately. So my sister told Julia that if she went poo-poo 3 times in a row with no accidents they would have a Big Girl Party! She was really excited and did a really good job at going on the potty. Well it didn't take Julia long to get her 3 times done and we had a Princess Tea Party for the reward! Julia and her cousin Kate got all dressed up in their princess attire and then went to the party!
Milk was used for the tea and Julia was obsessed with it. All she wanted to do was pour the
"tea" and mix it with her spoon and drink it. Over and over and over again. I don't even think she ate any of the food we had. After "tea" they put the princess puzzle together and read a Princess manners book. Julia also got a prize for doing so well at going potty. She got an Aurora doll to swim with her in the bath to go with all the other ones she has! They had a good time and wanted to play dress up the rest of the day! Hopefully this will keep Julia motivated to want to "go" on the potty more often than she is. Thanks Kristy for the motivation and the great party!

The Iron Rod

The whole family gathered on Sunday at grandma's and grandpa's house to have a Family Home Evening. Kasey had the lesson and talked about Lehi's Dream and the Iron Rod. She read the story to us and then had the kids go outside and do a little obstacle course to try and make it to the Tree of Life and get the Fruit. The kids had a good time and really grasped the concept of holding onto the rod for help to get safely to the tree. Julia kept trying to peek from underneath her blindfold but got use to it after awhile.

It was cute to see Layne out there helping all the kids along the way....just like Heavenly Father gives us helps along the way! At the end they finally reached the tree and got to partake of the fruit. Ever since Sunday Julia has been saying " I eat the fruit mommy, it makes me happy."

"Hold to the rod, the iron rod; Tis strong and bright and true.

The iron rod is the word of God; Twill safely guide us through."

Song of the day

I have been singing to Julia the song from Sound of Music...Do Ra Mi, and so on. Every once and awhile I will her singing it throughout the day and the other day I heard this version of the song.....

Julia:
Doe a deer a female deer,
Ray a drop golden sun,
Mi a name call myself
Fa....Mulan!

I laughed so hard!

Easter

Even though Easter has passed us by I still wanted to post some pictures. We had Easter and Conference Sunday on the same day so we didn't go to church on Easter. So Julia woke up and had her little Easter Egg hunt inside due to the foot of snow that was outside from the night before. We ate breakfast as a family and then sat down to enjoy Conference. It was a wonderful Conference! So many wonderful talks about family and the roles each of us is to play to ensure we have a successful, happy and loving home.

This week I told Julia since we didn't get to wear her Easter dress last week that we would wear it today. To say the least her favorite part of Sunday is getting dressed in all of her pretty dresses. So today was really special because she said she gets to wear her 'princess' dress to Nursery! We curled her hair and she was in heaven! Twirling all around and picking up her dress as she walked so she wouldn't trip...even though her dress wasn't that long. She kept wanting to sit down and just have the dress sit on the floor all around her. She is growing up to fast and today she really looked like a little lady....all grown up!

Where's Julia? Part II

Just like when Julia slept in her crib she would pile the pillows on top of her. I don't know if its her way of blocking out light or sound or just to feel protected. Well, she has done the same thing in her 'big girl' bed. More so at her nap time then night time but she will have to have her big pillow on her tummy and then she will pile up smaller ones on top and they usually stay in place. Weird!!
