The Cromwell name will live on!!!

I couldn't wait a whole other month for the doctor to tell what I was going to have so we went to our favorite place in the mall to get an advanced showing. Well, I thought for sure it was a girl. But I think I just didn't want to jinx myself, I just told myself it was a girl all along. I was going to be happy with whatever it was going to be but a little boy will be exciting. While we were taking pictures of the baby Julia was so excited and we told her it was going to be a boy she kept saying, "I'm going to be a big sister!" She wanted to come sit by me but she was jumping around and talking her head off. After the appointment we went to pick out a few little baby boy outfits. I think I said at one point in the store, "It's weird not looking at girl stuff."

A little background story when we went to see what Julia was going to be. We went to the Fetal Imaging place in the mall and there is a foreign guy that runs the place and so when he told us what Julia was going to be his response or explanation came out like this, "No balls!" So that became the joke for us and something Layne really remembered. So Layne didn't want to go with me to see what the baby was this time.....to superstitious maybe?? But we called after the appointment and we had Julia tell him, "Balls Daddy!" She had to say it about 5 times but Layne finally understood. He was WAY EXCITED!!!!

I am 17 weeks along and have been feeling the baby make little movements. I first felt him in bed on July 4th. Its hard to notice them because they just feel like little flutters but he is moving and growing and looks good. He only weighs about 1/2 pound but not for long! We can't wait for him to get here!!

Toy Story 3

On Monday over the holiday weekend, Layne was home so we decided to take Julia to see her first movie in the theater. Toy Story 3!! She actually did pretty good. A few times she wanted to get up and walk down the stairs but for the most part she sat and watched the whole show. I think her favorite part was eating her popcorn, treats and drink! It was a good time and I'm glad we were able to go do that together as a family!

Holiday Weekend

It was a fun weekend, with the 4th of July being on Sunday, it gave way for a weekend long party. On Saturday night we went to my parents to enjoy a picnic BBQ and then some little (cheap) fireworks for the kids to enjoy. It was unusually cold and windy so it was hard to get the entertainment to work but we enjoyed ourselves. The kids loved the sparklers, or as Julia would say the sprinklers. They didn't know quite what to do with them when they first got them but they got the hang of it.

Sunday was a nice relaxing day at Church, the actually 4th of July! It was great to feel the spirit of the day on a spiritual level. Watched a 20 minute fireworks show on TV that night.

Monday, Layne had the day off and so spent the day together as a family. Then we left Gramma with all the kids (thanks mom) so we could go to our traditional Bee's Baseball game. It was a good game, (even though they lost) great company and a small fireworks show at the end. A great way to end the holiday weekend!! I love the 4th of July, it's one of my favorite holidays!! I feel so blessed to live in America, Land of the Free and Home of the Brave!!
