After coming home from Bear Lake I went to go meet our new foster care placement. It was 2 twin boys who were 3 years old. I know, I'm crazy. I drove to Tooele to meet them in a park with the temporary foster mom they were staying with.
At first they just stayed close to foster mom and the kids she had with her. The twins wouldn't even look at me or my kids. They wouldn't even go on the playground by themselves. So her kids took them on the playground and I kinda tagged along and started talking to them. After awhile I was taking one of them around the playground with me. They both started warming up but still were very tentative.
The time came to leave and everybody was super worried about it. They all feared they would just scream and cry the whole way home. If they did they did, there was nothing I could do about it. So we put their seats in the car, they jumped in, got buckled, sat with their bag of trucks, and off we went. Smooth sailing! Drove to McDonald's to grab a little food and we were set.
Did I mention the twins are OBSESSED with trucks!! The whole ride home all I heard was. "Look at me, look at me!" "Trucks, trucks!" Over and over and over again. I think I heard the word truck a million times and I am not over aggregating. They know what each kind of construction truck is and what it does and they want you to look and make sure you see it too. Hey, but at least they weren't crying, right!
So meet Issac and Miguel. They are big for 3 they look like they could be 5. They are bigger than Christian that's for sure. I can't tell them apart yet....hopefully I will be able to. Their goal is reunification with their parents so we hope that happens for them.

Bear Lake........
Each year we usually go with Layne's family to Bear Lake for a day but this year it was family reunion time so we headed up to the lake over the 24th weekend. So we got to stay for a few days and did we have a blast. Julia and I look forward to this the most out of everyone, so we were super excited it was longer than a day this time! Gma and gpa Cromwell rented a huge cabin and everyone got to stay there. All the kids slept in the loft upstairs and the adults got rooms. It was a huge cabin with lots of space and the wrap around deck gave us a great view of the lake!
The view from our cabin
Uno tournament was set up and Uncle Rich was playing
against our little uno master, Christian. It was fun to
watch them play. Christian didn't say anything the whole match.
Our lunch! Did someone order a pizza?
A little go-cart racing
Of course we had to stop and get some famous raspberry shakes!
Cousins enjoying time together!
BEACH TIME!
Anyone up for some kayaking??
These guys love to pose for a picture!
Digging in the sand.....
Oldest and youngest girls together.
Hailey and Chloe
Christian wave jumping.....he could do this all day!
Our day wouldn't be complete without our family picture!
This just about sums up our time at Bear Lake! As always, it was fun to get together with our immediate family and spend quality time together. To just unplug and play and have fun. To talk and catch up on life. We also enjoyed being able to see extended family at the reunion and catch up as well. Its good to be with family and we enjoy being with ours. Thanks to Sherry and Phil for a great weekend.

Summer Time Fun........
To pass the summer days away we beat the heat by cooling off with our annual water fight. We meet up every year at gma Mott's house and let the water fly. We always have a blast! Water guns are a must so we try to stock up at the dollar store because they break every year. We found that you could fill up at least 2 at a time for a better result.
Everyone on your marks........
Everyone attack Aunt Amy
Now its Aunt Kasey's turn
Peyton for a swim
Water gun salute
All done!
We also beat the heat by staying cool inside watching a few new movies. Some of the summer blockbusters we saw were Minions and Inside Out. Nothing like seeing a good movie with some popcorn to pass the long summer hours away!
We had to have new Minion shirts just for the movie!
We also had many visits to the splash pad to keep cool. They could splash around all day if I let them. Both my kids are water babies!! This is the Highland splash pad. It's over by gma Mott's house, so its a ways to travel but it's nice because it has a little stream and also a little spray part to play in. It tends to get crowded to you have to come early or around lunch time when all the littles start to go home for naps. Its fun and even the adults can wad in the water!

Summer Brag Tags..........
This summer the city of Lehi has a fun way to get you out and about doing different activities to earn a tag to put on a lanyard. Each activity usually has to have a picture taken in to show as proof that you did the activity to earn the tag. It was a fun way to earn tags and also get the kids involved and see and do different things around the city.
To earn tags we had to:
Work on Recycling and cleaning up the environment
Build a Fort
The kids got a piece of fruit for showing the lady they did a dance
The kids went together and did a tour of the fire station. This was really cool. They got to try on the fireman's gear and get up in the truck and take a look around. And they got a safety talk from the firemen.
They went to the Lehi museum one day
And another day we down to a hotel and did sidewalk chalk art out on their sidewalk. The kids loved that.
