A Good Laugh!

Julia and I were checking out at K-Mart today and the lady ahead of us had a strange request. She came up to me and asked if I could look at the tag in the back of her pants to tell her what size they were??? OK?? She had said she didn't want to go all the way back to the dressing room just to check because she was buying another pair but a different color. Total weird. But the funny part was when she left and Julia proceeded to say...........

Julia: " Mom, she had colors on her butt!" (The lady had a lower back tattoo)

I started to laugh so hard Julia actually got mad at me and plugged her ears and screamed stop. I think she was embarrassed but my reaction but I had a good laugh!

The Surprise!

I told Julia on Thursday that we had a big surprise for her on Friday. She asked me what but I said you would have to wait and see. So on Friday, we got dressed and we put on her Mickey Mouse shirt and said a little later on we would be going to the surprise with cousin Kate and Aunt Kristy. She was excited and kept asking me if "we go to surprise now?"

So the time arrived and we drove up to Salt Lake City. Kate would point out the Disney on Ice billboards as we drove and they were excited and didn't realize that that is what we would be going to do, Kristy and I just sat up front and laughed. We asked the kids what they thought we were going to do but didn't really guess. We parked and we asked again where they thought we were and Kate said the Zoo?! Nope. So I said this is where the Utah Jazz basketball team plays and we thought it would be fun to see a game but still really no response. So we wanted to see if they had signs inside that would give them a clue and as soon as Julia saw a sign she was yelling, "Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy!" So we told them we are at Disney on Ice! They were both pretty excited. So we looked around before we found our seats and they just wanted to see all the souvenirs and buy all of them of course. We settled for pictures by the concession stands instead of paying $15 for a 'real' picture.

We splurged and got the kids a snow cone cup souvenir to take home. Julia loves it. She asks to eat ice cream out of it!

When the show started Julia was so excited. And out came all her favorites, Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy. They skated around and she asked where Goofy was. And just then they opened the curtains and out he came. It was so fun to watch her. Her eyes were glued to the show the whole time. It was a fun surprise and I knew she would love it. It was fun to spend time with her and see her little excited face! I love moments like that!!

Goofy Girls!

After everybody had gone trick or treating for the night everyone wanted to try on Kasey and Royce's costume wigs. I guess we were all on a sugar high and were bored! But this one was my favorite!!!

Halloween Fun!

I asked Julia what she wanted to be for Halloween this year and she said "Jesse" from Toy Story. Well, I didn't want to buy one of those cheap, one suited, versions you see at the store so we came up with our own version of "Jesse the Cowgirl!" I think it turned out great and she looked so cute and she loved it. The whole week leading up to Halloween she kept asking if we could go Trick or Treating and I had to keep telling her we have to wait because if we go now no one will have candy to give us. So the day finally came and I told her after her nap we could get ready to go trick or treating. She told me in her cute little, excited voice, " Mom, I'm so excited, I'm so excited. I'm going to be a cowgirl and go get some candy." I couldn't help but smile. It was like Christmas morning for her, she could hardly contain herself!

We headed off to Grandma Mott's house to trick or treat in her little neighborhood. Julia was able to go with her cousins this year and that made it even more exciting! Only one problem was the RAIN. It was horrible! We went early while still a little light outside and got drenched. The kids didn't mind of course but for the adults it was just horrible. We all came inside soaked and buckets full of candy and also water. But all in all it was a fun night and all the kids had a great time!

Carving Pumpkins

Well, preparations for Halloween were really fun this year. We had a great time doing a joint FHE with the whole family and then carved pumpkins for our activity. It was fun to see what everybody carved on their pumpkins. Julia really got into this year. She was hesitant at first with cleaning and touching the guts but once daddy showed her how to do it she dug right in. She even told daddy what to carve on her pumpkin!
