March Madness........

Here is what has been happening in our lives this crazy spring. March certainly came in like a lion but now has settled down and is being like a little lamb. Nice and gentle, nice and warm. Flowers are blooming, things are turning green, and my kids have cabin fever! At least this month ends with Easter!

Its been so nice lately that we have ventured to the park quite often. Just as March came in like a lion, Christian hit the park like a lion. He happened to have a basketball and dropped it and when bending over to get it bonked his face/eye on the corner of a tunnel that he didn't see. Immediate bruise around the eye.

He did say, "I hurt my eye just like grandpa did, but I didn't get stitches." I guess they could be twins but I think gpa got it a lot worse pal! But nothing a little chocolate milk can't fix!
He also wanted an ice pack at bed time because he said it was still hurting. This is the only one that would work.
Parks usually have trees. And Christian has found that if he can find a tree he can climb he will.

St. Patty's Day Julia said she said she wanted to wear the most green out of anyone in her whole class. When she got dressed for the morning she said to me, "Mom, do you think anyone else will be wearing green today?" I told her yes, everybody will be and not to worry. Silly kid. In this picture everybody keeps telling me she looks like a mini me, I think I might have to agree with them :)

Well, I've been trying to find a place to put a bird feeder in my yard but don't really have trees. So I thought I could put a decorative metal pole in my flower bed but needed to find a feeder and a pole. So Christian and I ventured out. We made a few stops and one of them was to IFA. And as soon as you walk in the door you could hear them. So that was our first stop.

Baby chicks. Christian could help but try and pet everyone that poked its little head out. They were so cute. All the chicks, ducks and bunnies were fun to see. But no bird feeders. We ended up at Walmart of all places. So I put up the feeder and waited and waited and waited. It took forever for those birds to come. But eventually they did.

The red house finch is the bird that comes to visit most often. They have a very pretty song. I do get the collard doves and on a rare occasion a western jay. The kids love to watch them to. One morning Layne was up going to work at like 6:45am and Christian was already up and was sitting on the couch and asked Christian what he was doing? His reply, "I'm just watching the birds."

March is also a great time of year to fly kites. They always have them on sale so of course we always have to get one. It usually lasts for one flight but hey the kids like it. Christian got one and asked Layne if he would help him fly it one day. It was windy enough so Layne took him out and showed him how it was done. It was cute to watch the 3 of them fly the kite. We could even do it in our own yard because we didn't have any power lines or tall trees near by. Give it a few years and that won't be the case!

Aunt Amy had her company spring movie bash and invited me and the kids to come. We got to go and see the movie HOME. Free movie and free popcorn we were in, you didn't have to ask us twice. The kids had a blast. It was a cute movie. Thanks for inviting us Amy.

March Madness wouldn't be March Madness without some college basketball!! We've seen some crazy games and Duke basketball has made it to the Final Four over the weekend so we have a very happy someone in our house!!

Update: Duke won the National Championship 2015!
Congrats Layne! It was fun having Duke win and watching and celebrating with you!

Julia and I had a mommy/daughter date and went to see Cinderella. Cinderella is my favorite disney princess. It was a wonderful movie. Julia was mesmorized the whole show. She loved Malificent so I knew she would love this one too. It was really well done and I loved the message. Have Courage and Be Kind! It was fun to just be together and just a girl day. Thanks Julia for spending the day with me!
