A Visit to the North Pole......

Last week, Layne surprised us and said we were going to find Santa. He told us he had talked to Santa and he was told Santa was coming to visit Utah. So last night we took a little trip to Midway to find Santa. The kids were soooo excited and Julia couldn't wait to talk to him.

We got all bundled up and then hopped on a wagon pulled by 2 huge white horses named Peaches and Pearls. Christian insisted on going up to each horse to pat them on the nose and give them kisses. Once on the wagon, the driver took us around and talked about the area. Christian was loving it and the cold didn't phase him a bit. He was a little chatterbox and was talking about everything, the stars, the trees, the lights, the horses, and Santa. We kept asking him what Santa says and he was so loud and would just yell out, 'Ho, Ho, Ho.'

We finally arrived at the North Pole, Christian had to say goodbye to the horses and give them some more kisses and then we went in to see Santa. It was great because we got to go in and take our time visiting Santa. We took off our coats and only had a little wait time before it was our turn. Julia even brought a few letters for him and was excited to give them to Santa. She changed her mind at the last minute and didn't want to give him the letter but when we saw all the other letters other kids had brought all strung up on the wall and she was excited again to give Santa her letter. When it was our turn, Christian started to run up to him and then stopped rather quickly about 1/2 way and ran back to me. He was a little timid but no screaming and crying! Julia walked right up and sat on Santa's lap. They talked for quite a while and he opened Julia's letter. She finally told him that she wanted a dream light for Christmas. And since Julia was sitting on Santa's lap Christian wanted to give it a try and did a good job because big sister was with him.We got a few pictures and then went on our way with a candy cane in hand.

Arriving at the North Pole!

Happy kids getting to see Santa!
It was a fun night to be able to spend together and as Layne said, Making Memories!!
