Christian's 2nd Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTIAN!!

Christian woke up and walked out into the kitchen and saw the Bubble Guppy banner we made and he loved it. He kept saying 'bubbee, bubbee,' over and over again. He was so excited for his birthday. I would ask him if he was going to have a party and he would say 'bubbee party' and cake, so he knew something was going to happen.

We invited family over to celebrate. We started with presents and Christian wasn't quite sure what to do at first but once he knew surprises were inside he ripped right into the gifts. Just like most kids his age he didn't want to keep opening things but playing with the things he already opened. Such was the case with his new plane. Thanks Amy for a great present!

I think Christian loved everything he got. He was so excited to see what was in each package. He got lots of cars and trucks, some books, a new pillow pet, a puzzle, and some pjs and an outfit from gma and gpa Cromwell. Its so fun to watch them react to what they receive. They get so excited and are so happy!

Next it was time for cupcakes. Christian had been wanting one all day long. While I was decorating them he kept pretending to blow out candles. So he was really excited when we lit the candles and began to sing 'happy birthday'. He face just lit up and his eyes got really big. He was huffing and puffing before we could even finish singing. He knew exactly what to do and blew them out quickly. We gave him his own cupcake and he was tentative at first. He mostly kept putting the cupcake topper in and out of the cake. All he would do is dip his finger in the frosting and lick it off. He thought that was so fun. He especially liked showing everyone his very blue tongue.

We had such a great time and Christian loved every minute of it. So thanks to everyone for making his day so special! Can't believe my baby is 2 already!

Just A Little Bit About Christian:

*He is such a mellow, happy, laid back kid. And I love that about him. Nothing bothers him to much unless he's tired or hungry.

*He is so polite. He says please and mostly thank-yous when you do something for him or give him something. And he is pretty good about saying 'welcome' too!

*He makes us  laugh every single day. Just his facial expressions alone light up my day. But he just says the funniest things and talks so much. He will dance or do something funny and he will make me laugh and he will do it over and over again.

*He still loves to dance and listen to music. Any time its on the tv, radio, a toy he has, he will just bust a move. Whenever he hears the Michigan fight song he will raise his arm up and down and dance around and then say 'go blue'. Layne hums and claps out the Notre Dame fight song and he will just run around in a circle till he is dizzy.

*Christian is learning to say family and personal prayers. He will repeat certain words and its so cute because he won't talk he will whisper everything you want him to say. He gets to the end and says 'Christ, amen.' Its amazing how quickly they learn things of the gospel.

*He LOVES his blankie and kitty-cat. And has to sleep with them each night. He wakes up in the morning and he is holding them and loves to sit and watch Team Umi Zoomi or Bubble Guppies while he sits with his blanket and cat. Its so cute. Julia never had a special blanket or toy so it's fun to see Christian be so attached, in a good way.

*He is talking so much and every day he says more and more. If you ask him to say something he will try to say it the best he can. I love it when you ask him a question and he will say 'yes' to answer you. Its just how he says it, again its just so cute. I love this age because he says such funny things and just how he tries to say things makes everyday with Christian fun. He can count to 10 too. When you count with him we get to 5 and he will then say 6, I say 7, and then he says 8, until we get to 10.

*He is doing so much better going to nursery each week. For awhile he would just cry and wouldn't let you leave. After sacrament we ask him if he wants to go play with toys and have snacks he will get excited and say his cute little 'yes' and off we go. Now all we do is walk in with him and while he is distracted we can walk out.

*He's ambidextrous for now but we might have a south paw. He eats, colors and holds a pen in this left hand but will throw and point with his right hand. Layne always wants him to use his left hand, so I guess we shall see! He uses a fork and spoon really well and is great at eating cereal. Julia never was at his age.

*He is so affectionate with everyone. Whenever he reads a book he will give the pictures a kiss. He loves to hug and kiss little babies when he can get ahold of them. He loves to give kisses whenever its time to say goodbye. He is always hugging and kissing his toys and stuffed animals, Julia, daddy, and mommy!

*Stats from the doctor: Weight: 26.4 lbs 25%, Lenght: 33.25 in. 25%, Head: 49.5 cm 75%
Well, the doctor check up is next week so I will post stats later. But we love Christian so very much and we are so grateful that he is a part of our family! He is all boy and I love that about him! I can't wait to see what this next year will bring with Christian and his wonderful personality!
